Our Story
A Wears Valley Tradition for Smoky Mountain Explorers
Built in 1975, Wander Wears Lodge has long offered comfortable motel lodging for travelers eager to explore Wears Valley, TN, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Located just two miles from the Metcalf Bottoms entrance to the park, the lodge is still the closest and only motel to this popular gateway. Metcalf Bottoms offers a peaceful place to enjoy the Little River, have a picnic or set out on a hike to the historic Walker Sisters Place and Greenbrier School.
While much has changed since the 1970s, the spirit of Wears Valley remains. Today, the small mountain community is home to local favorites along Wears Valley Road, including the Social Food Truck Park, Mountain Brothers General Store and Elvira's Café. And after a long day exploring the trails of the Smokies or riding the winding Foothills Parkway, Wander Wears Lodge remains a welcoming place to put your feet up and relax.
Fall is especially beautiful here, when the mountains come alive with brilliant color and the changing leaves stretch right outside the lodge. Whether you're looking for a great hike, a local place to eat or something new to explore, we're happy to point you in the right direction and help you make the most of your time in Wears Valley.
